After sold-out performances at the Teatro Maipo, Lucila brings this unique production to The Playhouse for an exclusive engagement on Monday, September 30th, and Tuesday, October 1st at 8:30 pm.

About the Show:

"A Movie Without Julie" is a captivating one-woman show inspired by an original idea by Lucila Gandolfo. With text and music by Fernando Albinarrate, and direction by Julio Panno, this performance has been lauded for its emotional depth and brilliant storytelling.

Accompanied by Fernando Albinarrate on the piano, Lucila takes the audience on a 90-minute journey through the life of Catalina Lonely, a woman who, from childhood, shares her days with her invisible friend, Julie Andrews. Through music, song, and dance, Lucila brings to life a story that beautifully intertwines Catalina’s life with the presence (and absence) of Julie Andrews, who becomes a metaphorical companion in this touching tale of life’s hopes and disappointments.

This thought-provoking performance is a metaphor for the twists and turns that life holds, where hope and despair, courage and fear all play a role. Lucila’s mesmerizing portrayal of Catalina Lonely is both profound and entertaining, leaving the audience reflecting on the lessons we gather from our own journeys.

The musical score includes over 30 melodies and songs from legendary composers such as Rodgers & Hammerstein, Lerner & Loewe, Sherman, Bernstein, and original compositions by Fernando Albinarrate.
